In my humble opinion, scarves are the perfect accessory. A lightweight scarf in the spring can add color, texture,or a pattern to any outfit. Wear a scarf with a dress, a fun blouse, or a simple plain tee with denim and your most comfy sandals, boots, or sneakers. In short, a scarf is an effortless way to refresh your outfit.

There are countless ways to tie a scarf, although I think we’re all guilty of wearing our scarves the same way every. single. time.

At White Plum, we’ve brainstormed some fresh, fun, and stylish ways to wear your scarves this spring.

For the single knot, drape the scarf around your neck with one side longer than the other. Wrap the longer side once around the shorter end, making a loop. Now with the long side wrapped around the shorter side, pull the longer end through the loop. Adjust the knot however you like—tighten or loosen, and move it up or down.

To make The Cross Stitch, fold your scarf in half and drape it over your neck. You should have a loop on one side of your scarf, and the two ends on the other side. Take one end and pull it through the loop, going under the top of the loop and over the bottom. Take the other end of the scarf and pull if through the loop, going over the top of the loop, and under the bottom of the loop.

To achieve The San Francisco tie, start with your scarf looped around your neck in the classic form. Tie the two ends together, and tuck them under the top of the scarf, right below your neck. This look is classic, but with a seamless touch.
