Ice Cream, You Scream!

Raise your hand if you scream for ice cream! With summer upon us, it’s the season for the sweet treat (but isn’t ice cream season year-round?) and we want to share our new favorite recipe.


Ready to have your mind blown? This ice cream requires only one(!!!!) ingredient. It’s dairy free, lactose free, vegan friendly, no sugar-added, etc. – everything you want to hear. This ice cream is actually good for you.

Let’s cut to the chase. You’ll need: bananas. That’s it.

Slice your ripe bananas, and freeze for at least 4 hours. Take your frozen bananas out of the freezer and let them thaw for twenty minutes, then throw them in a blender or food processor and blend until the bananas turn creamy. Refreeze the banana for a few hours, and it’s ready to eat! The banana “ice cream” has more of a frozen yogurt consistency–it's very creamy!

If you want to get crazy, there are tons of great additions you can throw in your ice cream. After you blend the bananas, stir in whatever else you’d like to add. We tried strawberries for one batch, nutella and almonds for another, and peanut butter for the final batch. You could also try blueberries, raspberries, chocolate, espresso, sprinkles, or hazelnuts–to name just a few! There is so much room to experiment!


Now you can eat ice cream every day  twice a day, without feeling an ounce of guilt.
